Gripple

 - University Business -

In the final year of my degree, we were tasked with the challenge of curating a small start-up business that would solve a gap in the market. For us, we felt catering for atypical children was a must.

The market was untapped, meaning their everyday difficulties went unknown.  Through our primary and secondary research, the big insight led us to find that children with Autism have 50% less dexterity than the average neurotypical child. This means that objects such as pencils at schools and bathroom appliances are simply  impossible to navigate for them. Our adaptable grips, Gripple,  help tackle every day tasks. Parents can attach it to objects such as toothbrushes, pencils and hairbrushes whilst allowing children to feel calm by the stimulating texture on the grip and reduce hypersensitivity, unlike current, neurotypical tailored objects.

- Prototyping Process -

This is the moulding process used to make our first prototype.
We used plaster to set the shape and plasticine modelling clay as the material.

- Mock-up OOH's -

We put our products in the real world to show how they would be advertised beyond social media.
